Dead skin cells, jaded skin and tanning can disappear with the help of homemade body scrubs. Although they are effective, it’s forbidden to use body scrubs every day. For oily skin, body skin exfoliation may be done once a week. Dry skin doesn’t demand exfoliation more than twice a month. Some natural body scrubs can be tried to achieve good results. There are many homemade body scrub recipes which can be made and used at home.
Salt body homemade scrub: consists of 2 cups avocado, sesame or jojoba oil, 1 peach kernel oil or cup apricot, 1 cup unsweetened cocoa or ¼ cup freeze dried coffee crystals, 8 cups kosher salt, 2 tablespoons vanilla extract honey to make the texture smooth.
Almond and bran body homemade scrub: the almonds and bran mixture, the 1 cup of hot green tea is added then the mixture is stirred until becoming a smooth paste. Then it’s cooled as to body temperature.10 drops of lavender oil are added and then the mixture is blended. Scrub may be used once a week.
Homemade body scrub with sea salt and olive oil: mixture should be soaked into the skin, then massaged and rinsed properly.
Homemade body scrub with sugar: two cups of mashed fruit, a tablespoon of sugar is added. A tablespoon of rich honey may be used to make the skin shining.
Brown sugar homemade body scrub: consists of 2 teaspoons of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon honey, 2 teaspoons ground oats , 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice, 2 teaspoons aloe vera gel, 1 teaspoon almond oil which makes the skin brown and is considered to be gentle moisturizer which sloughs off dead skin layers.
Homemade body Scrub with Oats: in 1/2 a liter of buttermilk the half of a cupful of coarse oats is added. Then all is mixed well and is put into fridge for 2 hours. The mixture is applied all over the body – the neck, the arms, torso and legs and should be left for 20 minutes. Then body is washed with warm water with lemon juice.
Orange and Lemon Peel Homemade Body Scrub: It’s better not to throw away orange and lemon or lime peels. They may be dried thoroughly till they are fragile. But while drying they need to be kept away from sunlight. They are powdered and two tablespoons of this powder, two tablespoons of wheat bran or porridge grains are mixed with1/2 tablespoon of honey and milk. Before a shower this mixture is applied over a neck, arms, body and legs. Rough circular movements will help to exfoliate dead skin cells and then may be rinsed. Then bath normally.
Homemade Chickpea Powder Recipe: For those with oily skin this is the perfect body scrub. 4 tablespoons of chickpea powder are added 1/2 tablespoons of turmeric powder, milk and a rose water. Then the mixture is rubbed all over the body. After the paste dries and cakes, rough circular motions are used again to exfoliate. People having got dry skin can also apply this scrub but they should substitute milk with full cream.
Tomato Wrap Homemade Scrub: 4 tomatoes are choped finely and then are pureed. After rice is soaked for half an hour and it is grinded and added to the pureed tomatoes. The scrub is applied all over a body and left for about 20 minutes. Then it’s bathed with warm water. This body scrub is appropriate for oily skin.
Homemade Scrub with Yellow Lentil: A half cup of any lentil is soaked for 30 minutes. Then it’s drained out of the water and champed to a paste. A tablespoon of chickpea powder and milk is added and mixture becomes a thick paste. It’s applied all over the forehead, face, neck. It should be rubbed with circular motion to make dead skin cells be removed and blemishes to be cleared. It’s perfect idea for sensitive skin.
Wheat Husk: When wheat flour is made the lamellar powder which is left behind is the best for exfoliation. Wheat porridge grains also may be used. A thick paste having been made from half cup of wheat husk or porridge, one tablespoon honey and one tablespoon of milk is applied all over forehead, face, neck (the eyes should be avoided). Then with gentle or strong circular motions the paste is rubbed for 5 minutes. Then it’s rinsed properly. This body scrub helps the skin to be clean, balmy and glowing.
Coffee homemade body scrub: Components: 1/2 cup raw sugar or sea salt, 2 cups of coarsely ground coffee, 2-3 Tbsp massage oil. Recipe: All ingredients are mixed. Before applying it’s better to take a hot shower for skin moistening and pores opening. With wide, circular motions, the coffee exfoliant is rubbed onto skin vigorously. When the scrub is showered off and skin is dried, it’s useful to apply a body lotion.
Glycerin and honey sugar homemade scrub:Components:1 tsp pure honey, 1 cup fine sugar, 3 tsp liquid glycerin, 3-5 drops of essential oil. It’s also possible to add pinch of lavender blossoms, chamomile, or dried herbs (finely chopped) Recipe: All components are mixed well and stored in an airtight receptacle. For thinner end-product more liquid ingredients may be added. Mixture should be stirred perfectly before using. The honey is used as protective means. Small amounts can be used to scrub the nose (one should be careful with the eyes). Elbows, hands, knees, and feet are also can be scrubbed. After rinsing with warm water and drying, it’s better to apply a moisturizer.
